Dental implants are fixed solution to replace one or more missing teeth. They are made up of two main components:
The implant itself is usually made out of titanium and is carefully placed into the bone where the tooth is missing and is designed to retain a restoration.
An implant restoration is then placed onto the implant. The type of restoration will depend on how many teeth are missing but these can be crowns, bridges, or dentures.
The type of implant restoration will be determined by how many teeth are missing and how many implants are being placed. These restorations can be made to look and feel like natural teeth.
Dental implant placement is an invasive procedure, so patients sometimes receive sedation during the procedure along with a local anaesthetic.
We refer all implant placements out to another practice, but restore all implants in house.
Please note: Not all persons may be suited for implants. Please speak to your dental practitioner for advice.
