What is Tooth Whitening?
Your teeth can become stained and darker with age. Smoking, drinking lots of tea, coffee or some wines can also cause darkening of your teeth.
Tooth whiteing is an effective treatment that reverses natural discolouration of teeth. It is an excellent option for many as it is minimally invasive and can make a dramatic differrence to the appearance of your teeth.
Our professional whitening treatments quickly and safely whiten your teeth, giving you confidence with a brighter, whiter smile.
Tooth whitening is often combined with other treatments such as veneers and clear aligners.
What to expect
An initial appointment will involve taking impressions or a digital 3D scan of your teeth to create your own custom fitting whitening trays.
Once your trays are ready, you will return to the practice to receive your whitening trays and kit which will include:
4 syringes of professional whitening gel
A whitening tray storage box
Full whitening instructions as well as guidance from your dentist on how to use the kit
Tooth whitening results are not permanent, and the shade will naturally darken again over time. Your whitening trays can be re-used to top up any whitening treatment. Refill gels can be purchased from the practice.
Cost
Our professional tooth whitening package is £329 and includes everything you need for safe, effective results.
Below are some important things to know before whitening your teeth.
You need to be aged 18 years or over.
Your teeth and gums must be healthy, your dental practitioner will check during your initial consultation.
It is not recommended to have teeth whitened if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, evidence is not clear whether whitening products can affect a developing baby.
Teeth whitening won’t whiten the colour of any fitted crowns, veneers, bridges or dentures. If you whiten your teeth with crowns or restorations already present, these may need to be replaced to match the new shade after whitening. This will incur an additional cost.
